The eight day event gives families the opportunity to take part in an incredible adventure all while raising funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity.
The Brats Bash raises much needed funds for Variety, who help children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, across Victoria.
‘‘The whole idea of the event is to get kids out and about and seeing regional and outback Australia from a different perspective all while teaching them how to fundraise,’’ chief executive of Variety Janette Connolly said.
‘‘We’ve been doing this event for 11 years and each family must raise at least $500.
‘‘We bring a few children with special needs along for the journey and it’s a great way to start integration with other children.
‘‘Last year we raised $35,000-$40,000 for Variety.’’
The journey provides families with children and teenagers an irreplaceable experience exploring some great places around our country.
The 2200km journey through the heart of Victoria from Yarra Glen all the way up to Byron Bay in NSW. The families will stay the night at Discovery Park in Echuca and tour TwistEd Science.
Variety have partnered with Discovery Parks nationwide throughout the month of April with $1 of every booking they receive going directly to the charity.
The 20 families are due to arrive in Byron Bay on April 13.
