The week-long tour also included meetings in Moulamein, Balranald, Wentworth, Barham, Deniliquin and Berrigan.
Based in the east of the electorate, Mrs Dalton said she had been trying to visit this region since the election.
‘‘Now I’ve finished setting up offices and recruiting staff, I’m finally getting out,’’ she said.
‘‘I’m abreast many of the local issues but it’s great to come in person and see the needs.’’
Mrs Dalton’s key message: the bush deserves its fair share.
‘‘Particularly in Moama, because we have been neglected. It’s been expected we just hop over the bridge and use Victorian resources,’’ she said.
‘‘But Moama is growing. And we deserve our basic services and basic rights.’’
In addition to tackling the red hot issues of health and water, Mrs Dalton said she was already hunting down grants for development and infrastructure in the area.
And also planned to introduce local courses to empower organisations to successfully apply for grants.
‘‘I can’t write every grant application, but I can help in this way,’’ she said.
Mrs Dalton also used the visit to meet up with independent Member for Shepparton District Suzanna Sheed.
‘‘We know women are great communicators and network well. We take family, community, environment and the economy into consideration when we make a decision, we look through a number of lenses,’’ she said. ‘‘So if we can work together to find solutions across our states, it will be difficult for the government to say no.’’
