FOR the sixth time in their history, the Elmore/Lockington/Rochester Community Bank branches have announced applications are now open for their Community Sponsorship Program.
The branches, which recently celebrated 15 years, have opened the sixth round of the program since its inception in July 2016 and it is open to all organisations and groups in the Elmore, Lockington and Rochester districts.
Lockmore Financial Services chair Brad Drust recently announced applications were now open.
‘‘We are very excited to again be receiving applications that will support local programs, projects and events,’’ he said.
‘‘We have given more than $1.5 million back to our communities. This was all made possible thanks to the customers of the Elmore/Lockington/Rochester Community Bank.’’
Senior branch manager Tracie Kyne supported the announcement.
‘‘It’s simple — the more our customers bank with us — the more our Community Bank can invest in our local communities,’’ she said.
‘‘This is our demonstration of being able to invest in our communities today and we thank those that bank with us.
‘‘With many other banks turning their backs on regional towns like ours, we once again prove our commitment to this community.
‘‘Talk to our staff, bring your banking across and watch our community benefit, especially through our local Community Sponsorship Program.
‘‘You can be part of the change today. After all, you have to bank somewhere, so why wouldn’t you bank with someone that gives back to your communities.’’
Last round saw 19 recipients awarded sponsorship funds for a number of programs, projects and events including $19,000 to assist an upgrade at Travellers Rest facilities in Lockington, resurfacing of a basketball court at Rochester Primary School, replacement of water fountains at the Elmore Bowls Club alongside many activities that support our local clubs and schools.
Mr Drust said these were a number of examples of how the community benefits from Community Bank sponsorship funding.
Applications close on March 14. For information, visit bendigobank.com.au or visit your local Community Bank branch.
