And just so happened to be crowned the winners of the poster competition.
Schools were invited to create their own banner with students painting a vibrant background of the rising sun, with silhouettes of people united, walking together, working together to make a better tomorrow.
The school won a $500 voucher from Bennetts Sports Store in Echuca.
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
In preparation for the Reconciliation Week celebrations, students from both schools came together to discuss what reconciliation meant to them while creating their school banner that reflected such an important message.
This year’s theme was ‘grounded in truth: walk together in courage’.
