Hair yesterday, gone today

The Melanoma Institute Australia will be receiving more than $3400 from the Not Giving Up Fundraiser, held on February 9 at the Royal Hotel in Seymour.

The fundraiser was well supported by a huge variety local businesses who contributed door prizes, prizes for the silent auction and raffle.

Local butchers supplied sausages for the barbecue.

But most important were the hairdressers — Olivia Canobie and Erin Dawson — who coloured and shaved willing participants all afternoon.

The coloured hairspray was donated by Susan Parker from Bespoke Hairdressing.

Kids were entertained with face-painting, a crafting corner and a jumping castle.

Event organiser Jade Rankin was overwhelmed by the support received.

‘‘Once again, thanks to everyone who came to this fundraiser, contributed everything they possibly could. Whether it was the shave, colour, bidding in one or all of the raffles, this all went towards making this one amazing afternoon and one to never forget,’’ she said.
