Getting set for clinic

By Seymour Telegraph

Former AFL Melbourne Demon and media personality Garry Lyon will be the star attraction at a free coaching clinic at Kings Park on May 29.

Undertaking the initiative as part of the Toyota Good For Footy program, Lyon was captain of the Demons where he played 226 games and booted 426 goals.

Seymour and Kilmore Toyota dealer principal Adam Dove said the event was thanks to the ongoing relationship between Toyota and the Seymour Football Netball Club.

‘‘Garry Lyon was a celebrated and highly respected player throughout his career and we are looking forward to him imparting his knowledge and experiences,’’ he said.

‘‘We will be running a free coaching session with support from Seymour Footy Club senior players which will also include a handball competition, exciting inflatables, lots of give-aways and prizes, a free sausage sizzle and a question and answer session with Garry Lyon.

‘‘It gives the kids a chance to get up close to a footy legend and to hang out with the senior players they watch every weekend.

‘‘We’re excited for the event and hope to see heaps of local faces on the day.’’

The event will be held on May 29 at Kings Park from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
