In golf croquet pennant last week the Rich River Emus lost to Euroa four games to eight.

The score was much closer on hoops - 61 hoops to 66.

Bev Floyd was the best performer with two games.

The Kangas had a bye last week.

In association croquet pennant this week Rich River section one defeated Numurkah two games to one.

Marjorie and Ian Grant won their doubles, and Ian won his singles.

The section two team of Lyn and John Norwood won all three games against Numurkah Navy, with an impressive score of 42 hoops to 13.

In club play on Tuesday, 14 members played singles.

Two players won all three games, Russell Smyth beating Kaye Joyce into first place with a score of +16 hoops to +9.

Three members played in a social day at Yarrawonga Croquet Club.

Anne Dodd, Fiona Larcombe and Helen Brierley all won three out of four games and had a great day in a very welcoming atmosphere.

Anne also won a door prize.

The courts were closed for maintenance for three days last week, and members are delighted to be playing on courts which are in excellent condition.

Eight players from our club travelled to Shepparton last Tuesday to compete in their soup and bun social day and a good day was had by all, with some of our new players having their first experience in playing competition at a different club.

EMCC had success on the day with two of our members playing well. Trevor Peters the winner, Mavis Peters runner-up in a great result.

EMCC travelled to Shepparton this week for pennant play.

Shepparton were the winners against EMCC Shepparton won 6-70 to EMCC 6-62.

All games were very close, Shepparton won the first set of singles 2-24 against 2-20.

The second singles match was also close with Shepparton taking the win 2-23 to 2-22.

The doubles were just as close with Shepparton too strong for EMCC.

Shepparton won 2-23 to 2-20.

Trevor Peters and Beryl Ash won three games each both playing well.

Next week EMCC are at home playing Kyabram good luck EMMC.

Monday, September 10 saw a good turn up with 14 players taking to the courts, plenty of sunshine for a change, just perfect for a game of croquet, doubles, singles and one trio were played with some very close games.

John Graham was the winner of the Lets Do Coffee Voucher Trevor and Mavis Peters both tied for runner up.

Next Monday some of our players will travel to Kyabram to compete in their social day, hope the weather holds and we have some good croquet.
