And this season’s cause is closer to home than ever for the members of the club.
The club will donate all proceeds of the day to the recovery of Jackson Davie — grandson of club stalwarts Jack and Margaret Shearer — who suffered a serious spinal injury in December 2018.
Kerryn Evans of City of Echuca said the club was proud to take a role in helping the family of their long time club members.
‘‘It’s a cause we all feel really strongly about,’’ she said.
‘‘Jackson is going to require a lot of care for his injury and a lot of work is being done to make his care possible. To be able to use our annual charity day to play a role in his care is something everyone at the club wants to do.’’
The event begins at 11.30am, with a barbecue, raffle and trading table.
Bowling will begin at 12.30, with players of any skill level welcome to join in the day.
‘‘It doesn’t matter if you have never bowled before,’’ Evans said.
‘‘It’s going to be a fantastic day of bowls and a wonderful opportunity to raise some money for a worthy cause.’’
All names of bowlers must be submitted to the club offices by 11am, with the day costing $8 per player.
