Coach Brad Campbell has included Cam Valentine, Angus Byrne, Dan Willis and Murray Bombers co-coach Andrew Walker in his 36-man squad for the this year’s match against Western Region Football League.
The match will be played at Werribee’s Avalon Oval on May 18.
The inaugural squad features players from all 12 of the GVL’s club, which Campbell said showed a huge upside for the competition.
Kyabram leads the way in terms of numbers, with eight members of the Bombers in the squad.
Reigning premiers Shepparton also have four players in the inaugural squad, while Echuca’s local rival Rochester has two selections.
No netball is scheduled to be played, as the Western Region League’s netball program is only in its second season in 2019, with junior sides instead to be entered in local association tournaments.
Two Echuca players will be included in the 15 and under side — Alice Davidson and Asha Gray — while Charlotte Groves has been included in the 17 and under side.
