That’s the message coming from Echuca United coach Lisa Drysdale, who isn’t afraid to say how good she thinks her team is.
Since falling to the Magpies juggernaut on Good Friday, the Eagles have been simply unstoppable, brushing aside everyone in their path.
Cobram were the latest choice of prey on Saturday, as the Eagles glided to a 44-goal victory.
After playing Numurkah and the Tigers off the court in the past two weeks, United have established themselves as Moama’s biggest threat in 2019.
“We’re well and truly aware that they are still the benchmark,” Drysdale said.
“If we can keep up this form anything is possible.
“Our best is good enough to beat the reigning premiers.
“We’re not going to shy away from the challenge.”
Against Cobram, everything went to plan – even the changes to position that Drysdale implemented throughout the match.
“We’re trying to find out new things about our team as often as possible,” she said.
“The aim is to be as flexible as possible because you just don’t know what could happen.
“Everyone is open to the idea, which is really pleasing.”
United’s pressure in the midcourt was too much for the Tigers to handle as they turned the ball over far too often.
Carri Carter, Fallon Lieschke and Olivia Bish were outstanding, earning direct praise from their coach.
“They forced Cobram into long and difficult passes,” Drysdale explained.
“That pressure makes it much easier for the defence.”
Some of the Eagles will now enjoy a week off due to interleague competition but Drysdale will be joined by Amelia Brock and Tanner Edwards in the Murray Netball League side.
“It’s an honour to be a part of,” Drysdale explained.
“You want to do your best because it is a competitive game after all.”
United will face Katandra following the break.
