Along the way you should expect to experience bumps in the road, but in 2019 six teams from across the region are in prime position for the perfect season.
Amazingly, Echuca United is home to four of those sides — two football (reserves and under 17s) and two netball (C grade and C reserve).
Elsewhere in the Murray League, Tongala’s under 13s remain undefeated after 13 rounds to sit one game clear at the top of the ladder ahead of Finley.
While in the Goulburn Valley League, Echuca’s under 18s remain on track for back-to-back premierships after maintaining their clean record with a narrow six-point victory over Seymour last time out.
United president Lucas Walker said it is pleasing to see so many sides enjoying success in 2019.
‘‘It’s exciting to see so many of our teams in a position to challenge for a premiership,’’ he said.
‘‘The coaches have done an amazing job to this point of the season but they’re well aware there is still a lot of hard work to do.
‘‘But most importantly the players have belief in their each other and their respective coach to keep on winning.
‘‘While we’re happy where we are now, a lot of the hard work is going to come in the finals.’’
After lean years in the past, United could be set for a historic end to the season with all grades of football and netball looking set to play finals.
‘‘Hard work from everyone involved in the club has put us in this position,’’ Walker said.
‘‘Our players and coaches have consistently been improving and it’s a credit to them. Everyone in this region should be proud of how determined people are to improve their club.’’
All six teams still have five games to play in the home and away season before the biggest challenge of the year takes place.
