Tees launched

Full of excitement and energy for 2019, Tatura Men’s Shed has a new project under way.

Two weeks ago, a few members decided it was time to start a new project, making T-shirts to raise funds for the organisation.

Tatura Men’s Shed member Wes Tyson owned a printing business in Melbourne for 18 years and brought the screen printing equipment to the shed about six months ago.

With the cooler weather now making the shed a more bearable temperature for work, Mr Tyson has printed 60 shirts so far in a range of colours.

The logo was designed by Mal Watts and depicts the Men’s Shed logo on the front, with the names of local towns in an acrostic poem with the word Tatura on the back.

Other towns on the T-shirt include Ardmona, Toolamba, Undera, Rushworth and Arcadia.

Mr Watts said the design was created to highlight small towns across the region.

‘‘It’s important to give the little towns some publicity,’’ he said.

Tatura Men’s Shed member Vince Vincitorio said the group had enjoyed one printing session so far and had already sold a few T-shirts.

He said the T-shirts were all Australian-made and were made in three colours.

‘‘It’s just a bit of fun,’’ Mr Vincitorio said.

The group is hoping to introduce collared shirts with pockets in the near future.

■All T-shirts are $25 and can be purchased at the Tatura Men’s Shed, 157-161 Ross St, Tatura.
