Tatura Stadium was open for casual use during the school holidays including Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10am until 2pm.
For a small fee kids could choose between basketball, volleyball, badminton or table tennis to bounce their holiday blues away.
Greater Shepparton City Council duty supervisor Tom Vandeberg said it was the first time the council had opened the stadium for the holidays.
‘‘It’s been a good couple of weeks, we had 25 last week and about the same again this week,’’ Mr Vandeberg said.
He said council would be looking into running the program in the next school holidays.
‘‘We’ll look into running it again next holidays and then hopefully it can continue on from there,’’ he said.
‘‘If there is a bit more popularity we can look at increasing the days and hours.’’
He said most people walked to the stadium to make an outing of the day.
‘‘On Tuesday we had 14 people here at once, so that was a bit crazy, but we didn’t really have any expectations being the first time, so were pretty happy with the result,’’ Mr Vandeberg said.
