It was another early start, as golfers braced themselves for another hot day.

The Stableford event welcomed Tatura Veterinary Clinic as a new sponsor.

The summer conditions encouraged some good scores in both grades.

Bev Roberts just had one of those days. After wiping her first hole, she could do nothing wrong after that, finishing with a lovely score of 39 points to win A-grade which reduced her handicap from 23 to 22.

Runner-up was Jan Coe with 35 points.

B-grade was won by Josie De Ieso with 36 points, as she chips away at her handicap by playing some good golf.

Roy Harris was runner-up with 34 points.

Ball winners: Heather Long 34, Di Day 33, Kerry Gross, Lyn Fanning, Lois Rogers, Lyn Flett and Sheryl Curran all had 32 points.

Nearest-the-pins: Third hole Hill Top women: Phyl Fiddes; sixth Tatura Hot Bread: Di Day; 14th One4One Café: Bev Roberts.

Wednesday’s event: Hit-off from 7am to 7.30am; three-player ambrose. Sponsored by Phyl Fiddes, Liz Mulcahy and Heather Long.
