Goulburn-Murray Water has released its 2019-20 price list to customers as part of its annual price review, with the Infrastructure Access Fee remaining the same as it was in the previous financial year.
The access fee will remain stagnant at $4245 for the Shepparton district; $2925 for the Central Goulburn, Rochester, Loddon Valley, Murray Valley and Torrumbarry districts; and $5405 for the Woorinen irrigation district.
The pricing update takes place annually and is regulated by the Essential Services Commission on behalf of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
G-MW is now undertaking a more substantive review of services, also overseen by the ESC, which takes place every four years and will set the company’s price path from July 2020 through to 2024.
‘‘We have been reducing our operating costs over time and this is reflected in the final year of the 2016 to 2020 price review,’’ G-MW managing director Charmaine Quick said.
‘‘I am committed to ensuring this downward price path not only continues but accelerates into the next pricing submission,’’ she said.
‘‘Indeed, G-MW is in the process of a major transformation of our business to ensure we remain sustainable in meeting the challenges posed by climate change, declining water availability and a changing customer base.
‘‘At the same time, we must maintain our diverse asset base and continually improve our service efficiency.’’
G-MW has been engaging with customers through online surveys and face-to-face discussions at drop-in days, workshops and meetings with its water services committees to get their input into their next pricing submission.
