Aiming to promote social inclusion, have conversations around our community’s health and to of course provide new and supported activities, the drumbeats program, book club and walking groups will be of great value to the communities.
Health Promotions Officer at Primary Care Connect Samantha Spinks said “Connected and engaged communities are stronger and more supported, so we want everyone to be trying new things and being involved in positive activities as much as possible.”
The Yarrawonga walking group will run on Tuesdays between 12pm-12:45pm, leaving from the Yarrawonga Neighbourhood House.
Both walking groups started last week on February 5 and will run for 9 weeks.
Each session will involve a 20-30 minute walk, followed by a cuppa and a chat.
The walks are suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and prams and dogs (on leads) are welcome.
These walking groups aren’t about setting a fast pace, they are about getting active, getting outdoors, and getting social.
Register to come along by calling Sam at Primary Care Connect on 03 5823 3200 or turn up on the day.
