Each year the Victorian Department of Education and Training recognises excellence in learning achievement demonstrated by students undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).
The 2019 Premier’s VCE Awards were presented on Monday, June 3 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre with Paige Nelson receiving a study award for the business subject, Industry and Enterprise VCE Study Unit three and four.
Paige undertook the Year 12 subject in Year 11 last year and plans to study business at university.
Over the years a significant number of GVGS students have achieved this distinction, with three students recognised with Premier’s Awards this year.
GV Grammar principal Mark Torriero said this was an outstanding achievement and congratulated Paige and two of her fellow GVGS peers on their achievements.
“We congratulate each of these students on their dedication to learning and the organisation and discipline they demonstrated throughout their studies,” Mr Torreiro said.
“They have seized the opportunities presented and made the very most of them. I am sure they can take confidence from this recognition in their continuing efforts in 2019 and beyond.
“Their examples are certainly ones that inspire students and staff alike.”
There were 317 awards presented to 290 students based on their outstanding 2018 VCE study scores.
Premier’s Awards are presented to the students achieving the highest results in each VCE study in a given year.
