In what were perfect winter netball conditions, the top Pigeons netballers celebrated co-coach and O&M champion Kaitlyn Cummins’ 250th club game in style.
This talented outfit didn’t waste any time getting this game off to a great start, with accurate passing and whole-team defense seeing them 11 goals up at half-time.
A change to the shooting line-up saw this lead extend further at each change, with best on court Indi Fraunfelder setting up the attacking end and ever-reliable Bec Carlyle leading the charge in the back line.
A fantastic team effort yielding a convincing 24 goal win.

B Grade
North Albury 41 defeated by Yarrawonga 62
The B Grade’s dominance under pressure was again proven this week with the girls taking on the third-placed Hoppers outfit in style.
A strong first quarter resulted in a handy 6-goal lead, and although the North Albury team fought back in the second, some smart coaching changes at half time saw the Pigeons regain their dominance.
Accurate shooting by best on court Laura Gorman and Bridget Cassar and key driving plays from Ebony Woodburn and Lily Sharp saw the ladder leaders run a clinic in the final term, finishing the game with a 21 goal lead.
C Grade
North Albury 23 defeated by Yarrawonga 58
After a bit of a slow start, the C graders got themselves back on the winner’s list this week with a dominant display against the 6th placed Hoppers outfit.
Young gun Eliza York was outstanding in goal shooter, with great movement and hands in the air seeing her sink 46 goals under pressure.
Co-coach Jen Buerckner was again dominant in defence, reading the play well and driving out of the circle with speed and agility.
The result was a terrific whole team effort showcasing exactly what this talented team of young ladies can do.

Under 16s
North Albury 50 defeated Yarrawonga 35
In a much improved game this week, the young Pigeons starlets took on the firing North Albury girls with a never-say-die attitude and a proven ability to fight back under pressure.
A slow start saw the girls down by 7 in the first, leading to some strong encouragement from coach Jayanna Sharp at quarter time.
The second quarter saw this talented team fight back to a 1 goal margin at half time and the game was on.
Best on court Hollie Bartlett was strong in goals, setting things up for her teammates and along with the energy and drive of Suzi Levesque, this was a game to take many positives away from, as the team continue to improve each week.
