It was a game of ebbs and flows against an opposition who caught the Bears off guard in the first quarter.
Tungamah started slow but kept working hard to create scoring opportunities off many turnovers from the defensive combinations of Hannah, Grace, Sophie and Amber.
At times the Bears rushed their entry to the forward end which saw some wayward balls not hit their targets giving the opposition more chances to score off the Tungamah ball.
When the Bears steadied and composed themselves the transition down the court was controlled and allowed the shooting combination of Haylea and Dan to convert.
The attacking midcourt of Bern, Brooke, Charli and Lauren worked hard against very strong and physical defence.
Thanks to Charli Cummins and Danielle Sidebottom for filling in this week.
Awards: Free as a bird – Bernadette Attwood and Belles Café – Sophie Hannah.

Tungamah were switched on from the first centre pass. Jess and Amy fed beautifully into Danielle and Jasmine in the ring.
Jade, Ruby and Cait were like a brick wall in defence, and this saw the Bears up 15 to 2 at the first break. Mel came into the ring in the second quarter and the addition of Sally into defence saw the lead extended to 20 at the long break.
Bella’s fresh legs in the centre in the second half added to the strength of the team. The margin at the final siren was 36 goals.
An awesome team performance with great support from every player across the court.
The positivity makes the game so much fun, and the coach is so proud. Well done girls!

The under 17s girls had a really good win against Yarroweyah. The Tungamah girls have been focusing and working really hard at training to develop 4 strong quarters and to not drop their heads, and they didn’t on Saturday.
They were able to adapt to changes that were made and fought hard to come across with the win.
The girl’s prelim moves and defensive pressure helped them seal the win, alongside their patience to get the ball into the goal ring.

Although they began the game with a few hiccups, including some erratic throws and turnovers from the centres, which caught everyone off guard.
