The championships were held at Flyaway Gymnastics Club in Albury Wodonga on Sunday, September 8, with the regional meet a qualifying event for the Junior State Championships to be held later this year.
In WAG Level 3, Benalla had one team in the 10-year-old age division, as well as a team in the 11-and-over division.
Benalla Red (10 years), consisting of Charlotte Seal, Ruby Richardson, Matilda Riddle and Poppy DeWinne, placed third on floor, vault, beam, bars and overall.
Meanwhile, Benalla Blue (11 years and over), with members Molly Hayes, Keira Bekins, Isobel Smyth and Lilli Coppolino also placed third on floor, before going one better on vault, beam, bars and overall with second place finishes.
In the WAG Level 5 competition, Benalla had four girls competing; Abbey Marshall, Hannah Berriman and Quinn Russel in the 13-years-and-over age division, and Ella Bast in the 10-year-old division, with all gymnasts placing high in the competition.
• Abbey placed first on beam, third on bars and floor, fifth on vault and fourth overall.
• Hannah placed second on floor, fourth on vault, beam and bars and third overall.
• Quinn placed first on bars, fourth on vault, bars and beam and second overall.
• Ella placed second on bars and first on beam, floor, vault and overall.
The club is pleased to announce that all Level 5 gymnasts have qualified for the Junior State Championships, which will be held at Geelong Arena in November.
