Mrs Mayall spoke about spinning wool, giving each student a lesson on using the spinning wheel.
Grammar school teacher Carolyn White said Farm to Yarn was about exposing students to the origins, uses and properties of natural textiles - silk, cotton, wool.
The students have grown silkworms and are waiting for them to spin their cocoons, as well as classing different types of wool and investigated the properties of natural and synthetic fabrics.
Students have also learnt about some of the issues surrounding the production of fibres, including mulesing and clothing waste.
The group has very donated three spinning wheels and a loom to the school.
School principal Steve Gale said the school was grateful for the very generous donation from the Cobram Spinners and Weavers group.
"Our Farm to Yarn class offers a range of hands-on opportunities for our Middle School students to engage in and allows investigation of a variety of skills," he said.
"Challenging and engaging curriculum and a wide variety of sporting, creative and artistic opportunities is extremely important for our middle school students.
"Our aim is to inspire, engage and encourage students to develop and pursue their interests, while gaining knowledge and learning new skills beyond their academic pursuits.
