The improvements will be a part of the continued town beautification works.
As part of the works, $50 000 is set aside by Berrigan Shire Council each year.
The works include signage, tree planting and other garden works to make the major entrances to four shire towns more attractive for visitors and residents.
Council’s corporate solutions director Matt Hansen said the funding was kept aside for when projects arose from the town beautification plans.
‘‘It funds projects like the tree planting that has taken place along the Newell Hwy in Finley recently and in Tocumwal and Berrigan,’’ he said.
‘‘The plan is to continue to chip away at the beautification plans for all four towns.’’
Mayor Matthew Hannan said the works had been on-going for the past six or seven years.
‘‘The beautification program is something council identified as important and decided to put money aside,” he said.
‘‘We can continue to identify points in our towns that make it aesthetically pleasing when passing through.
‘‘It’s extremely important to continue the works, to show travellers and potential new residents that we take pride in how the towns look.”
