A 49-year-old Strathmerton man is in a stable condition at Goulburn Valley Health after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times on Tuesday night.
Cobram Police arrived at a home at McGuire St in Strathmerton at around 11.25pm on Tuesday night.
A 35-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene.
Cobram police Detective Sergeant Marcus Boyd said crime scene detectives were investigating the incident.
"The incident occurred in and around the McGuire St home," Det Sgt Boyd said.
“It's believed the victim suffered stab wounds to his back and arm and was taken by ambulance to GV Health,” he said.
The 35-year-old man remains in custody at Wangaratta police station and is expected to be interviewed by Cobram police later this morning.
