Young guns from across the nation flocked to the Goulburn Valley for the 2019 Australian Football Skool tournament, with the under-9s, under-10s and under-11s representative boys’ sides, as well as an under-12 girls side from Cobram Junior Soccer Association taking part in the weekend of football.
Despite less than desirable conditions on the opening day, the CJSA stars dressed in red white and blue took to the pitch to do the town proud, with the under-9s narrowly missing out on silverware finishing runners-up after a nail-biting 2-1 loss to Darwin’s Mindil Aces.
The under-11s also fared well against stiff opposition to finish equal third in the top tier of the competition.
While the under-10s and girls sides were unable to emerge with a win, it was a day enjoyed by all.
