Dale will be shaving her locks if she raises more than $1000, in aid of the Cancer Council and Relay for Life both of which hold a special meaning to her.
“My sister Kelley has had breast cancer and also my oldest friend Jenny (we were 5-year-old besties) is battling lung cancer,” Dale said.
“It’s the least I can do to help raise some money and to show that they’re not alone in these fights.”
Dale’s head will be shaved by her hairdresser Nicole Wilson at 10.30am on Saturday, March 14 at the Memorial Arcade on Sanger Street.
“Nicole will be creating my bald masterpiece; I have never shaved my head before, but I do have short hair so it’s not quite as big of a change.
“I am also on the Relay For Life Committee but I have never participated before.”
Caleb Kuschert has also agreed to shave his mullet off if he can raise $500 by March 21.
If his total is achieved this will take place on the main stage at the Corowa Rutherglen Relay For Life.
The Corowa Rutherglen Relay for Life will be held March 21 from 10am – 10pm at Corowa RSL Park.
The last Corowa Relay for Life was held in 2014 as one organised for 2016 did not eventuate due to floods.
Organisers currently have 20 teams registered and are hoping for 30 to come on board.
If people would like to register contact Dale at the Corowa Free Press office in Sanger Street, on the website or Corowa Rutherglen Relay for Life Facebook page or they can register on the day.
Organisers are also looking for beauty therapists/ massage therapists/ nail technicians that would like to donate an hour or two of their time at the relay.
The group would like to provide free massages (sitting - back/shoulder) and manicures for the Survivors and Carers at the event.
If you’re interested and available please message the Facebook page or contact Julie Bartlett on 0459 457 401.
If anyone else is interested in shaving their head, waxing their chest, colouring their hair etc, to raise some more well needed cash, there is also an opportunity for that so please contact the relevant agencies mentioned.
