Theatre Company set to take trip through history

By Olivia Duffey

Travel through history with the Deni Theatre Company as it showcases ‘You’re History!’ next month.

The company has been preparing for the show since late last year and is hard at work polishing the performance.

It will be shown on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, from 6pm and Sunday, March 29 from 2pm.

‘‘It is all coming together as we finalise props, costumes and sets,’’ director Sam Willis said.

‘‘The show itself is looking fantastic and the students are putting in 110 per cent effort.

‘‘They are able to have a lot of fun with it too as we explore ancient Greece, Elizabethan England, the Caribbean, Scandinavia and Rome.

‘‘You can expect singing, dancing and an overall great performance led by assistant director and props and costumes manager Sara Myatt, sound and lighting technician and producer Anthony Myatt, choreographer and set designer Olivia Duffey and myself as director.”

Each performance has a limited number of seats available, so to avoid disappointment the company recommends purchasing tickets online now.

‘‘As one of our best shows to date, we expect seats will fill up fast which is why we are showing for three nights instead of our usual two,’’ Mr Willis said.

‘‘We are really looking forward to seeing friends, family and members of the community come and see what we can do, and the talent of our local youth.’’

Tickets cost $30 for an adult, $15 for a child and $80 for a family of two adults and two children, and can be purchased at the door on the night or to secure your seats now visit
