A Ford Ute was completely destroyed by fire early Friday morning.
Deniliquin Fire and Rescue NSW was called to extinguish the blaze at 6.55am across from the Deniliquin Rovers netball courts at the Island Sanctuary entrance.
Deputy Captain Les Booth said by the time they arrived, there was ‘‘no saving it and it was already almost completely destroyed’’.
Police were able to contact the owner who was away working in Queensland at the time.
The vehicle had been reported stolen and police suspect it was deliberately lit.
Investigations are continuing.
