A total of 21 players took part in croquet on Sunday.
John James was the only three game winner and won the day with 31 hoops.
Five players won their two games. Andy Davis had 25 hoops, Dot Murphy 24, Dors Peterson 21 and Lorraine Honeyman and Helen Moye each scored 20.
Dot Murphy ran a handy hoop-in-one as did Theo Walle and and John James.
Meyerene Geldenhuys, in her first game back after three months in South Africa, had three great in-offs to score hoops.
In the third round of the in-club pennant last Friday, the Sapphires defeated the Emeralds seven games to five in a hard fought game.
The club has decided to hold an open afternoon on Sunday, August 25. Anyone interested in trying croquet will be welcome. More details later.

A countback was needed to declare a winner for the day with John Tainsh winning it from Mary James, with both being the only three game winners and both finishing with 25 hoops.
Six players won two games with good scores despite suffering one loss.
Dot Murphy, Gwen Pearn and John James all scored 23 hoops, Marg Telford had 22 and Helen Moye and Brian Dudley each had 20.
Mary James had a great angle jump shot and Dot Murphy ran two hoop-in-ones, with Gwen Pearn, Mary James, Peter Whittakers and John James all having one hoop-in-one.
