By Zoe McMaugh

A large crowd gathered at the Blighty Recreation Reserve on Saturday to not only watch the Redeyes take on Katamatite, but for the official opening of the ground's new clubrooms.

Catering for both to netball and tennis clubs, construction of the new facility started in November last year and was completed in time for the Blighty Football Netball Club's annual ladies day in June.

Special dignitaries attending to help open the clubrooms - along with football, netball and tennis players - included Edward River Council Mayor Norm Brennan, Federal Senator for NSW Perin Davey, Picola & District Football Netball League operations manager Shane Railton and PDFNL president Denis Brooks.

The ceremony included some surprise awards, with Andy Lostroh receiving a Blighty life members and Judy Platfuss receiving a PDNFL life membership on the day.
