Juniors hit the court

By Deniliquin Pastoral Times

Deniliquin Junior Lawn Tennis Club had a wonderful start to the Deni HotShots and match play program for 2019/2020.

It was good to see so many new faces and of course the regular future tennis stars who are always keen to get back to tennis each year.

Parent volunteers are the backbone of the tennis program, so the club would like to say thank you to those who have committed to help out this season.

The club welcomes any help, so please let the office know if you are available to assist in coaching, helping in the canteen or even collecting balls to enable children to get more time hitting balls in their lesson.

It looks like it will be another exciting year with an action packed program ahead for the Deni HotShots.

The coaches are as energised and excited as the participants.

Section One results from round one were as follows:

Murray Constructions 5/36 defeated Marshall Electrical 3/26.

Kiss My Ace 6/35 defeated Landmark Property and Water 2/19.

Three set winners for the week were Baxter Cowley and Max Ferguson.

This is Max’s first year playing Section One tennis, so it was a thrilling morning for him.
