GRAB your choc tops, popcorn and a picnic blanket - Cinema Pop Up is popping up in Moama this summer.

Featuring an outdoor movie experience at the Moama Sound Shell, Cinema Pop Up is about providing locals and visitors the opportunity to experience an outdoor cinema in their local environment.

The pop-up attraction will run for four nights only and will cater for all, featuring the following family movies chosen by Moama locals:

  • Thursday, January 9 – Toy Story 4 (PG)
  • Friday, January 10 – Bridesmaids (MA)
  • Saturday, January 11 – Aladdin (2019) (PG)
  • Sunday, January 12 – Pets 2 (PG)

The pop-up roadshow will feature movies, free games and activities for kids, a candy bar with popcorn and snacks, and a bar for the adults.

It is supported by Toyota, Prime Super, the EJ Whitten Foundation and Murray River Council.

“Supporting community events is part of Toyota’s DNA and the team at Echuca Toyota are incredibly proud to be supporting this event in Moama,” Toyota regional marketing manager Andre Palayan said.

Cinema Pop Up is the largest outdoor regional cinema operator in Victoria, with pop ups running throughout regional Victoria all summer.

“We’re excited to bring an event of this calibre to regional Victoria,” director Kate Hardwick said.

“These are the types of experiences you’d traditionally only be able to access in metro cities, however we understand and value the importance of local communities.

“Having these magnificent partners on board together with support from MRC means we can offer a free experience people can share in together.”

MRC mayor Chris Bilkey encouraged locals to book a ticket and join the fun.

“This event is a great opportunity to enjoy a different movie experience while relaxing and making the most of the great outdoors,” he said.

“It’s exciting that we have been able to attract this great initiative to our area, so I’d certainly encourage everyone to head along.”

Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate for $10 for adults and $5 for children.

But if you book online, tickets are free for kids, 17 and under and only $5 for adults.
