Biolinks is preparing to hold its second workshop for the year, to bring together a plan to restore and reconnect valuable habitats in the Heathcote region.
Called Local 2 Landscape, it will be a full day on Sunday, November 24, running from 10am to 4pm at the Heathcote Senior Citizens Hall, with lunch outside by McIvor Creek.
During the workshop, participants will:
¦ Help determine key ecological goals, with six potential goals having been identified from April's Visioning Walkshop.
¦ Explore key activities to most effectively meet the goals (on maps).
¦ Select one or two activities for pilot project development and explore what is required to advance them.
The day would be of value for anyone with an interest in the area who would like to see more proactive environmental stewardship in Heathcote region, and who understands that a collaborative approach is key to achieving real improvements.
Biolinks Alliance will provide conservation planning expertise but the plan's success will depend upon local knowledge, ideas and enthusiasm to make it come to life.
