AMASSING 560 votes and beating out 19 other submissions, one-and-a-half-year-old purebred Labrador Macey has been crowned Kyabram and district's top dog.
The golden bundle of joy is no doubt a deserving winner, as owner Steve Grima explains.
How did you get Macey?
We got her from Echuca. My partner Caitlyn and I both said we wanted a girl and there was one girl left and it happened to be Macey.
What is her personality like?
She's always outgoing and friendly. She's definitely a puppy - she just wants to play all the time. She's always in your face but when it's time to settle down she always snuggles in close. She loves to cuddle up and always wants to be near somebody. She's a very smart dog who does some funny things, such as wake me up every morning by jumping up on the bed and tapping my forehead with her paw until I feed her breakfast.
Does Macey know any tricks?
She can sit, drop and roll over. She shakes your hand or gives you a high five. Most recently she learnt how to mark a football with her two front paws and bring it to ground. She loves being outdoors and going for walks and runs.
What's her favourite treat?
It has to be chicken. As soon as you go near the fridge she thinks the chicken is coming out.
What makes Macey such a Top Dog?
Just her loving personality - everyone loves her. Everybody who sees her on the street always comes up to say ‘hi’ and give her a pet. And she's always friendly to everyone in return.
