Give a dog a home: Buddy

By Alex Gretgrix

IF YOU'RE looking for a playful pal with personality who will last you a lifetime then you need look no further than Buddy.

He is a 17-month-old Shar Pei and Kelpie mix who is looking for his forever family.

And if this bouncy boy looks familiar to you it's because he has featured in our series before, but unfortunately he hasn't found his perfect new owner.

He has been patiently waiting in the shelter for the last 43 days, looking out for his fur-ever family to come through the doors to meet him.

The Kelpie is your classic Australian working dog, the signature breed for sheep and
cattle farmers while the Shar Pei is a centuries-old type and is a cross of the mastiff and
Nordic breeds.

This means Buddy is the perfect blend of hard-working and energetic and most of all, just full of love to give.

Being a working type breed, he would be best suited to a home with an experienced owner who is willing to take him for a daily walk or run.

This will prevent him from becoming bored and destructive in his new home.

Campaspe Animal Shelter also recommends Buddy attends obedience classes to ensure he grows into a mature and well-mannered adult dog.

He will also need a well balanced and nutritious diet to help him gain some weight.

It is recommended he lives in a home with secure, 6ft high fences to keep him safe and
sound.

Buddy is an enthusiastic young man who would make a great companion for any sized family.

If you would like to meet Buddy or any of the other dogs available, head to campaspe.vic.gov.au or call 5480 3005. His adoption fee is $360 and PER source number: BR101840.
