The upgrades include building extensions, installation of commercial kitchen appliances, new kitchen/servery, additional function room space, toilet facilities, flooring, cabinetry, stores as well as new access paths and viewing area.
Murray River Council mayor Chris Bilkey said the project was largely community driven and the works had hugely improved the reserve.
"It's amazing what a difference these upgrade works have made; the replacement of the ageing infrastructure in addition to the extension works has certainly reinvigorated the site," he said.
"This project has delivered quality facilities that are suitable for all the user groups and will now encourage increased utilisation of the reserve overall."
The Mathoura Recreation Reserve is the central recreation facility for the town that is utilised by the football, cricket, netball and tennis clubs, as well as for community functions.
The pavilion renovation works were completed by Bernie Green Constructions of Deniliquin.
The local Recreation Reserve Committee worked closely with council in the planning stage to ensure the project delivered maximum benefits and usage for the whole community.
"The upgrades to the pavilion and surrounding site will certainly have long-lasting benefits for the local sporting groups in Mathoura and district," Cr Bilkey said
