This school holidays, Gannawarra Shire and Northern District Community Health have teamed up to host a three days comedic and improvisation workshops at Cohuna and Kerang between September 23-25.
“Very rarely do these types of events occur within the Gannawarra, so I encourage those interested in learning more about these performance types to take part,” mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“Young people across the Gannawarra will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in comedy and drama thanks to these workshops."
Award-winning Melbourne comedian Geraldine Hickey will host workshops for secondary school-aged students on Monday, September 23 at Kerang and Tuesday, September 24 at Cohuna.
Ms Hickey will then team up with fellow comedian, Luka Muller and local support acts for the Comedy Gala, occurring at the Cohuna Memorial Hall from 6pm on Tuesday, September 24.
Meanwhile, the team from Impro Melbourne will run two drama improvisation workshops at Cohuna on Wednesday, September 25.
The Impro Melbourne guests, who have appeared on Neighbours, Thank God You’re Here, Rockwiz and Prisoner, will provide participants the opportunity to gain an insight into the world of drama improvisation.
