Residents can visit the new centre to make sheriff payments, submit births, deaths and marriages applications and seek advice on consumer affairs matters.
The centre is also the new home for a number of Community Correctional Services staff who manage offenders in the community.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp officially opened the centre on Monday in the place of Minister for Corrections Ben Carroll.
And said it would deliver a major boost to the town and surrounding communities.
“With a growing population we know there's need for growing services across all industries, including corrections services,” he said.
“Community Correctional Services staff were previously operating out of a single interview room at Echuca Magistrates’ Court, but that's not the case anymore.
“We now have a brand new facility – which staff have been using since about June – that can cater for many people and many services.”
Corrections assistant commissioner Jenny Roberts said the new centre recognised the unfortunate growth in the number of local offenders placed on community corrections orders.
“That's not a great thing but it's important we provide appropriate services,” she said.
“It’s also crucial our staff are in buildings appropriately positioned to manage that increase, providing first-class interview rooms and facilities that ensure safe work environments.”
The centre was funded as part of the Victorian Government’s investment of more than $320 million across the 2015/16 and 2016/17 Victorian Budgets as part of its revamped Community Correctional Services model.
