From 2pm at the Echuca Paramount Theatre, this polished 50-piece ensemble will have any music-lover’s heart fluttering and body swaying as they weave their musical spell around everyone in the theatre.
Established in 1926, the orchestra regularly wends its way through — and around — regional and remote parts of the state playing “music for the people”.
In earlier years, the orchestra performed up to 16 concerts per year mostly in rural Victoria, occasionally some in outer metropolitan Melbourne.
After a few lean years, the VCO is now financially viable and is in a position to offer free concerts to interested parties especially to areas affected by natural disasters and aims to make music accessible to anyone who is either too far away or is unable to afford to see live symphonic concerts.
Tickets are available for purchase with adults costing just $25, concession for $20 and students $10.
