Police looking for Echuca arsonist after car fire

POLICE are appealing for help to identify an arsonist who set fire to a car in Echuca West last week.

The 2006 Holden sedan, parked outside a Corin Court home, was set alight at 4.45am on Thursday.

A person in a hoodie was captured on CCTV pouring fuel on the back of the car and lighting it before leaving in a vehicle described as a white single cab tray ute with a bull bar, aerial and tool box on the passenger side tray.The fire set off the dogs in the court, waking up the occupants and neighbours who called the CFA.

However, they managed to put out the fire by the time fire crews arrived.

The car was partially damaged.
