For the third year in a row, 12 cyclists will make the gruelling 10-day trek from Adelaide to Melbourne with the goal of raising $150,000, stopping in Echuca to raise awareness and funds.
And they've chosen Bendigo Bank Echuca to be the spot for their fundraising feast on November 21.
To which the branch staff were more than willing to help out.
“We’ve done nothing but plan this event since the organisers came in to see us,” Bendigo Bank Echuca customer relationship officer Ros Beriman said.
“These people are coming through our town and promoting something that’s very important to the whole community, not just our own.”
Founded by Georgie Herbert, Clint Stanaway and John Hatzis, the Silver Lining Ride began as a way to find the silver lining in the loss of their loved ones to ovarian cancer.
Those wishing to support the cause can purchase a silver ribbon pin for $5 or make a one-off donation at Bendigo Bank Echuca.
The branch will host the fundraising event at 7.30am on November 21 on Pakenham St, where residents can meet the riders and show their support.
