BREAKFAST at Tiffany’s may be impossible, but at Nook on High you can have your cake and eat it too – and buy a cake plate while you’re there.
The cafe´ and homeware store on High St has been the go-to place for the past five years and it’s not just because of the delicious food or the gift that makes you say, ‘they’ll love that’.
No, it’s because Janine Pain and her team know just what you need, even if you aren’t already aware of it.
And if you need time to mull it over, they’re also the ones to serve you lunch or coffee number three for the day.
“The food is definitely the main attraction, but the Nook is a place where you can shop, get it gift wrapped and indulge in a meal – whether it’s breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake,” Janine said.
“It’s a place where you can get some Christmas shopping done or you could be catching up with someone for Christmas.
“We have gifts for everyone and at the moment Finska is proving popular with everyone.”
Finska is a Finnish game that involves throwing ‘logs’ to reach a score of exactly 50 – the perfect thing to keep everyone entertained on Christmas Day.
But if you’re looking for that special gift that is bound to stand out, you’ll be able to find it at Nook on High.
Meaning you don’t have to travel two towns over. “I always say, give local a try first, if you can’t find it then start looking elsewhere – but it’s so important to give local shops the opportunity first,” Janine said.
“We support local artists, the current range of mirrors we have are made locally, and that’s just a way we try to support the community.
“We’re very lucky to be supported by locals, we enjoy what we do and serving good quality food is something we’re passionate about.”
Nook on High is open seven days at 542 High St, Echuca, from 7.30am-4pm Monday to Friday and 8am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
