RESIDENTS looking to access Intereach Echuca services are advised the provider will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period.
All Intereach offices will be closed from 5pm on December 24 and re-open at 9am on January 2.
Intereach has 16 offices through central and northern Victoria, the Mallee and south-western NSW.
Intereach chief executive Keryn Fox said this is the first time Intereach will close its offices over the Christmas and New Year period.
“Historically this is a very quiet time in our offices, so we thought there would be minimal disruption for our participants and communities,” she said.
“This will also give our staff a break at an important time of year for their families, and I believe it is a way our organisation can promote an effective work/life balance.
“Throughout 2019 we have placed special emphasis on ensuring our staff needs are met, and this included the Intereach First Forums, which increased our investment in the personal and professional development of our team members.
“Our team has grown so rapidly, alongside the growth in our organisation as a whole, and ensuring their needs are met is a priority for Intereach.”
She said the organisation was ensuring critical programs continued to be accessible in emergency situations over the closure period, with staff available via telephone only.
“If your inquiry relates to an NDIS program, we encourage you to phone the National Disability Insurance Agency on 1800 800 110, or if you urgently need to speak to a member of the Intereach Local Area Coordination (LAC) or Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) team phone 0439 960 139,” she said.
“The Carer Support service will be available on 1800 052 222, and Family Day Care (emergency only) on 0427 814 288.”
