But for cousins Olivia and Reef McKay at Echuca East Primary School, it's pretty high up there.
For the last few years, the pair have been growing out their locks especially for the moment they could lop it off in front of their peers for the World's Greatest Shave.
“Children their age can usually take part in bike rides or rides to raise money, but these two have taken it to the next level,” Reef's mum Janine McKay said.
But this isn't the first time Olivia wanted to be involved.
“I wanted to cut my hair two years ago but we were too late,” Olivia said.
“My mum's friend has been battling cancer for a while now and I wanted to raise money to help her and so many others.”
Reef decided he wanted to join the crusade and thus the pair began saving up their hairdressing appointments for a later date.
“My brother has cerebral palsy and I have a few close family friends who have been affected,” Reef said.
And of course the school wanted to get behind the pair.
“It's important for us because everyone is touched by cancer,” Echuca East acting principal Lindy Burke said.
“At school, we promote caring for others and by holding crazy hair day here at school with all gold coin donations going to Liv and Reef, the students are really getting that sense of giving and helping others.”
The students had their hair cut in front of school assembly before their do's were fixed by Rani Zealley of the Atrium Hair Lounge.
As of Friday, the two had raised $1050 without the inclusion of what the school raised.
