In an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus the government announced clubs across the state would cease trading by 12pm on March 23.
"Moama Bowling Club is now in lockdown to comply with this formal directive while our team prepare the club for a temporary forced closure," the statement said.
"Plans are also being formalised for the club’s re-opening when formal advice is received."
"We will keep our members and guests informed of any updates or changes via our website, moamabowlingclub.com.au and our Facebook page, we thank our members and guests for their continuing support and look forward to welcoming you back to our club in the near future."
All non-essential services both sides of the Murray will be closed, in Victoria the Premier announced a stage 1 shutdown, this includes pubs, clubs, nightclubs, Crown Casino, and licensed venues in hotels.
It also includes gyms, indoor sporting venues, places of worship, cinemas and entertainment venues. Restaurants and cafes will only be allowed to provide home delivery or takeaway services.
Supermarkets, post offices, newsagents, bottleshops and chemists will remain open.
