The nine-year-old iPads, which have been reconfigured to support ERH staff in conductingtelehealth appointments across the health service, had become obsolete and unable tosupport the learning apps used by students.
The school identified a chance to support the health service during this time.
Head of Primary School Nigel Rudge said they were happy to help ERH.
“We saw this as an opportunity to provide ERH with additional IT equipment to support the influx to telehealth in light of COVID-19,” he said.
“ERH have been doing a wonderful job during the current situation and we wanted to do our bit to support them to be able to continue doing their jobs as seamlessly as possible.”
ERH chief executive Nick Bush thanked the school for the donation.
“This donation is of wonderful support to our staff and the wider community,” he said.
“Whilst we have equipment to support telehealth in a usual health service capacity, as a result of COVID-19 and the increase to telehealth and follow-up appointments, we had found we were limited in the equipment we had to support this increase.
“Our staff are thrilled to receive this donation and we thank Moama Anglican Grammar for thinking of us and donating this equipment.”
ERH has been overwhelmed by the community support received over recent months for its healthcare workers.
“We have been inundated with support in many forms from local businesses and members of our community showing their support to our team during this uncertain time,” Mr Bush said.
“We are very appreciative to our community for the wonderful support they have provided us and for their efforts in following recommendations and restrictions put in place to flatten the curve of COVID-19.”
