Campaspe Shire Council has apologised for the works being drawn out after issues with the ground beneath the road surface were discovered.
The affected area of Annesley St is located between McKinlay and Eyre streets with works including replacement of the kerb, gutter and reconstruction of the road.
“The works to date revealed issues with the road subgrade such that cement stabilisation works are now under way to provide the additional strength required,” shire infrastructure services general manager Jason Deller said.
“These additional works have delayed completion of the project.”
“Annesley St has been reduced to one way traffic heading southbound with detours in place for those heading north.”
Council apologised for the extended period of inconvenience and said it was providing regular updates to the affected residents and businesses in the area.
The project is expected to be completed and fully reopened by the end of June.
