“The intent behind the campaign was to give locals a voice and a tool to reach out to their loved ones and invite them to visit,” McPherson Media Group commercial director (sales) Haydn O'Neale said.
“We know how important the family and friends market is to our tourism industry, and we’ve all been missing our family and friends — seemed a really warm, ‘old school’ way to connect.
“The images are an important part of that invitation — we have beautiful towns and experiences we need to show off.”
There are seven postcards in the series, featuring places and attractions at Kyabram, Echuca and Rochester.
They have appeared in the Riverine Herald, Kyabram Free Press and Campaspe News, as well as in cafés and retail shops across Echuca, Kyabram and Rochester.
“Visiting locations, attractions, museums and galleries as they reopen their doors or booking their favourite cafés or restaurants and experiencing memorable moments with their guests will be a great way to support our small businesses and enterprises across our towns,” EMT chief executive Kathryn Mackenzie said.
Special visitor information packs can be picked up from the Echuca Visitor Information Centre, which will open its doors from Thursday and will be open 10 am until 3 pm.
