1895 The Royal has transformed its upstairs space into a Texan steakhouse, complete with a brand new bar and total refurbishment.
Pub co-owner Brandon Harpley said there was an overwhelming response during last week’s opening weekend.
“We were booked out each night and the feedback was awesome,” he said.
“It went really smoothly, there were no hiccups at all and every customer left with a smile on their face.”
And it’s not hard to see why.
The steakhouse is a unique dining experience, with an interactive hot rock presented to each customer who orders a steak.
The do-it-yourself aspect adds a whole new dimension to a night out, and for the customer who wants their meal just so, they get to do it themselves.
Your steak will arrive seasoned and sealed, ready for you to cook to your liking on the hot rock.
The steakhouse is a great match for the pub, which has two consecutive beer and beef competition titles under its belt.
“We’re pretty happy with the quality of our meat, so we thought opening a steakhouse would be a perfect fit for us,” Mr Harpley said.
The whole experience is designed to be more intimate, creating a cozy feel, and offering a completely different menu to the pub — and, of course, keeping in line with the Texan steakhouse theme.
The steakhouse is open from Thursday to Saturday from 5pm til late for dine-in only.
Bookings are essential, with a maximum of 10 per table. To book, call 5480 7626.
