Campaspe Shire Council has announced EWMAC will be able to have 150 people in the pool at the centre next week, up from 50.
It comes as Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced on November 22 that a maximum of 150 people are permitted in groups of 20 at gyms and indoor pools, with one person per four square metres.
“With the easing of restrictions announced by the Victorian Government, council has extended the capacity of aquatic services in line with the patron limits set by the Chief Health Officer,” Campaspe Shire Council’s development general manager Paul McKenzie said.
The current levels of operations are:
● Pool - No bookings required for EWMAC pool with capacity of 50 patrons in the water, no limit on spectators with social distancing. This will increase to 150.
● Group Fitness and Aqua classes - Capacity of 20 patrons, spin classes capacity of 12 patrons, with bookings required for all three.
● Gym – Maximum of 45 patrons, no bookings required.
● Learn to Swim – The number of classes available have been increased, with spaces now available for booking.
● Outdoor Pools – Capacity of 300 patrons, noting that our outdoor pools do not generally attract this volume of patrons. Social distancing of all spectators.
“Council is progressively increasing the numbers in the pool at EWMAC from 50 to 150 in line with State Government guidelines by the end of this week,” Mr McKenzie said.
