Committee president Jan Grant said it was disappointing not to proceed with the screening of Dream Horse, set to be held on Thursday, June 10 at Echuca Paramount.
“With COVID restrictions limiting numbers in theatres to 50 it became too difficult to hold the event. We can usually get up to 200 people and make a couple grand out of these events,” she said.
The event was meant to be the team's first movie fundraiser in more than 12 months after last year's lockdowns and restrictions limited get-togethers.
The last fundraiser, held in March 2020, was the committee's most successful to date, raising more than $3000.
However the committee will now work towards its major Oaks Day luncheon to be held in November, along with reviving its movie fundraisers at a later date.
Ms Grant said the committee was inspired to continue its work fundraising for Vivid, a disability support organisation.
“The work they do is very important. We're working towards raising enough funds for another bus, so we'll slowly keep chipping away at that,” she said.
